Volkswagen Minivan's teaser video released for CES 2016

BANGKOK: VW has released the first ever teaser video of its concept car which will be all electric and going to be unveiled at the Consumer Electronic Show next week in 2016. From the 10 second teaser clip, followed by the teaser photo which was earlier released, it is speculated that this concept might be the revival of Volkswagen minivan named Bulli, which was expected to be morphed in the production version back in 2011. The company has already confirmed that their next concept would be an electric vehicle, so this new concept will have an all new electric drivetrain.

Sneak peek from the teaser video clip shows a little glimpse of the nameplate with last letters appeared to be uo-E, so this new Volkswagen microbus might be dubbed as a Duo-E, reflecting the dual combination of minivan's versatility and its electric platform along with some advanced autonomous driving technologies.

Though, the video doesn't reveal much of the vehicle's exterior, but from the teaser image of VW’s concept released earlier and from the parts of this video, it is seen that the much-speculated minivan could possibly a people mover with the LED headlamps, fog lights and an illuminated big V-shaped horizontal grille with the brand's logo sporting the front fascia. It also features sleeker LED taillights with the chrome strip at the top on the tailgate and instead of having a traditional trunk, it will have a lift gate at its rear end. It is anticipated that the new concept will be based on MQB platform and developed somewhat similar to the retro looking minivan with a unique rear rack D.

As per the rumors, German automakers will also incorporate an advanced connectivity and technology in their new concept of the electric vehicle, which perfectly demonstrates the new era of affordable long-distance electromobility. VW is also planning to unveil the brand's cutting-edge flat batteries that could be used under the floor of VW minivan, which gives a cruising range of about 400-500 kilometer with a power of 114 hp on a single charge. New concept electric car's production integrated with turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel power units might begin in 2017 at the company's plant in Mexico and its production will be announced officially at the Geneva Motor Show 2016.

The all new concept of much speculated electric minivan along with its other in-car features is going to be showcased at Consumer Electronic Show 2016 together with Chevrolet's production version of Bolt, BMW's new “Vision Car” and Google-Ford autonomous vehicle official announcement.
