Tesla Set to Debut at the 2015 Motor Expo in Thailand
BANGKOK: The American electric automotive brand, Tesla is all set to debut on the Thai turf with the aim to dominate the all-electric market of the country. The brand has set up an official distributor in Thailand that will import units from the US to satisfy the demand of the customers across the nation. President and CEO of Tesla Automotive, Navamol Thitiworathat said that the newly formed company in the country is a joint venture between Thai and US investors.
Coming to this South-Asian country for the very first time, the brand is ready to surprise the audience at the upcoming 2015 Motor Expo that is scheduled to take place from December 2 to December 13, 2015 with their two cars, Tesla Model S 85D and Tesla Model S P90D.
Tesla S 85D features a powerful engine under the hood that can churn out a maximum power output of 417 hp and a peak torque of 657 Nm. It possesses the ability to touch the formidable 100 Kmph mark from standstill in just 4.3 seconds. While, the other Tesla S P90D comes with an even more powerful engine that can bang out a maximum power output of 762 hp. It can touch the 100 Kmph from zero in just 2.4 seconds. The two Model S cars come with an impressive range of 480 Kms from a single charge where a single charge is done within a matter of 8 hours.
Tesla also plans to set up superchargers at 120 fuel stations across the country for their electric vehicles to serve consumers free of charge. The supercharger can recharge the battery upto 80% within 20 minutes. The company's new office will be fully operational by the end of this year, which is located on Narathiwat-Ratchanakarin road.
