Tesla Motors Asia Pacific Stepped Out from the Motor Expo 2015

BANGKOK: Earlier it has been confirmed that Tesla, an American electric car brand, has officially set up an official importer and distributor in Thailand and will be showcasing its models at the Motor Expo 2015. But now it is revealed that Tesla Motors Asia Pacific has sent the letter to the organisers of the show which states that Tesla has not confirmed the distributors in Thailand. Consequently could not attend the 32nd Thailand Motor Expo 2015.

Tesla Motors has the charge of marketing in only five countries, which include Australia, Japan, China, Macau and Hong Kong in the region and has not been able to set up the distributors in Thailand. Due to this, Tesla cannot introduce its models in the Motor Show as it may violate the copyrights laws.

The President of the 32nd Thailand Motor Expo 2015 said that after receiving the confirmation from the Tesla Motor Asia Pacific, they have requested the required document from Tesla. But that time they did not have necessary documents in their possession so it was necessary to terminate their agreement.

President of the Motor Show said, ”We attempted to obtain required documents in September, but the request was not complied. Therefore, in order to comply with the set regulations and protocol, the contract with Tesla had to be canceled. ”

Now, the Ministry of Industry exhibits at the booth that was earlier booked for Tesla.
