Subaru Forester 2017 to be Launched at the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show
BANGKOK: The freshened up Subaru Forester was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show last year for the first time and now after a much speculation, TC Subaru Thailand is going to launch the ultimate SUV of its segment at the upcoming 37th Bangkok International Motor Show. The Japanese automaker's products have always been welcomed for their better performance, great driving dynamics, safety, sturdiness and the 2017 Subaru Forester is the spot-on example of the brand's high-class attributes. This mid-cycle upgrade will be the fourth refresh since the introduction of Forester in 2014.
We can't expect a whole lot of changes in the restyled Subaru Forester as the model was refreshed last year only, so the 2017 model received only mild refreshment in terms of interior and exterior. The company has made few tweaks to its front fascia as well as rear fascia with a new sense of wideness in its solid front radiator grille, bumper and headlights. Rear taillights have also adopted the similar design as the headlights sporting a sideway U-shaped motif for wider appearance. In addition to these, 2017 Forester is equipped with the newly designed alloy wheels and will be available in new body paints: Dark Blue Pearl and Sepia Bronze Metallic.
The inside of the refreshed Forester will be quieter than the current model due to the increased thickness of the door glass, enhanced sealing and also due to the less noisy Lineartronic transmission. The Subaru Forester interior gets updated with the new instrument panel along with an LCD multi-information display and passenger heated seats. A new SD navigation system enabling Siri services is also incorporated in the updated cabin with driver-side power memory seat. The cabin has an ample of space with a large boot capacity and the interior is smartly designed making ingress and egress even more convenient. The power rear gate is also incorporated to ease the loading and unloading task.
The updated Subaru Forester carries over the same engine as the outgoing Forester, but it is tuned to offer more efficient combustion and the reduced friction in the naturally aspirated engine that improves its fuel efficiency too. The base model will be packed with the 2.0-litre Boxer petrol powertrain delivering the maximum output of 150hp/198 Nm while the top variant will be powered by the same engine but with additional direct injection and turbocharging. This full-time Symmetrical all-wheel drive let you go on a fun-filled ride with an impressive fuel efficiency of 16 kmpl.
This updated Subaru SUV gets a major upgrade in its safety department with the Subaru's award-winning EyeSight pre-Crash system, which has enhanced the Active Lane Keep steering assistance, Adaptive Cruise control and the Pre-Collision Braking system. To further optimize the safety, the vehicle's Advanced Safety Package includes the latest Adaptive Driving Beam headlights along with the brand's first ever LED high & low beams lights and Steering Responsive Headlights.
With the promising safety, design improvements and engineering, the refreshed Subaru SUV will land at the Bangkok Motor Show 2016 with an expected base price of THB 591201.53 exclusive of VAT.
