BANGKOK: 37th Bangkok International Motor Show has begun with a bang. With all the major brands under one roof, BMS has taken all the attention it deserved. Though the event saw its inaugural ceremony on 21st March 2016 in the presence of the VIPs and dignitaries, today, the 22nd of March 2016 is the official day 1 of the show where media personnel were invited to have an exclusive day around the new cars. IMPACT Exhibition & Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok is the place which is going to be the new hub of petrolheads and auto enthusiasts till 3rd of April 2016.

Talking about the present date, it went hush-hush with some highly awaited launches and showcases but it was a day well spent between the ravishing cars. We, at CarBay, have compiled all the important showcases and launches held at BMS 2016 today so that you may not miss out on anything.

With big names like Subaru, Honda, Isuzu, Volvo, Chevrolet and Mitsubishi in the squad, the Day 1 @ BMS 2016 was indeed busy and big.

Subaru Forester

2016 Subaru Forester, the Japanese SUV, is among the list of most awaited vehicles for the Thai automotive market. The new vehicle was officially launched on 21st instant and so it is obvious to snatch the attention from its fellow cars. Powered by a 2.0-litre engine, this SUV is available at a competitive price falling between THB 1.398 to THB 2.29 Million across the trims. The new Subaru Forester 2016 is already making the 2016 Toyota Fortuner jealous and conscious.

Honda Civic 2016

Honda Civic 2016 is one of those sedans which is awaited not only in Thai market but worldwide. Honda has revised the face of its new Civic 2016 and added more features to make it a better drive for those who strive for a premium sedan. The 10th Generation Honda Civic has arrived with an option of 1.5-litre and 1.8-lite engine options and a starting price of THB 869,000.

Honda Accord

The D-Segment sedan is again a revision work by the Japanese auto giant Honda and has been appreciated for the new face. The new Honda Accord 2016 has arrived with 3 trims in hand – 2.0 E, 2.0 EL and 2.4 EL with 2.0-litre engine in E and EL trims and 2.4-litre engine in the EL trim. Packed with various amenities, the new Accord carries a price tag starting at THB 1.385 million for the Thai customers.

Honda BR-V

The one of its kind 7-seater crossover is on the stage of BMS 2016. Well, this is no surprise or breaking news as it was very obvious that this drive would make a place in the Honda fleet arriving at any auto show. The new Honda BR-V is packed with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine and has numerous comforting and safety features within. The drive is open for booking at BMS 2016 and has a price tag of THB 750,000 for the base trim.

Isuzu MU-X

A couple of days before its scheduled launch, Isuzu MU-X has been launched at the ongoing BMS 2016. The drive has arrived with a 1.9-litre turbo diesel engine and a 3.0-litre naturally aspirated powertrain under its hood. This drive can be all yours at a starting price of THB 1,094,000 for the base trim.

BMW M2

The German luxury auto brand BMW has marked its presence at the auto show with all the striking features, thrilling performance and stunning looks under one name – BMW M2 Coupe. For a luxury feel, which is expected from BMW, the new M2 Coupe is garnished with sport leather seats with polar blue stitching. The performance-oriented drive houses an M twinpower turbo engine that is engineered to deliver 370 hp of power.

Volvo XC90 2016

The absolutely ravishing SUV from Volvo, the XC90, has been showcased at BMS 2016. After a recent launch on the 9th instant, the new SUV has marked its attendance at the ongoing auto event. Packed with all the latest facilities and advanced features under its label, this SUV is available at THB 4.89 million for the diesel trim and THB 5.39 million for the hybrid variant.

Chevrolet Colorado

Chevy unveiled the all-new Chevrolet Colorado Xtreme at the BMS 2016 today in front of the media personnel. The appealing pick-up is designed keeping the utility needs of the Thai customers in mind and so a sturdy look is given. This Xtreme off-roader houses various safety features along with a robust body and power packed engine.

Chevrolet Trailblazer

Another drive from the American brand Chevy which showed its face today at the 37th Bangkok International Motor show is Chevrolet Trailblazer. This drive is available in 2 variants - 2.8 LT 4X2 AT and 2.8 LTZ 4X2 AT along with an additional Trailblazer Urban Package II. The robust drive underpins a 2.8-litre engine and comes with a competitive price starting at THB 1,149,000.

Mitsubishi Triton

One of the most important launches which took place at BMS 2016 today was of Mitsubishi Triton 2016. The revised pick-up looks moreover like an SUV than a pick-up and that's its USP. The comfort and convenience packed in this drive confirm the aforementioned feeling. The new Triton is in tough competition with Chevrolet Colorado and it would be interesting to see which drive takes over other in the Thai market.
