Porsche 718 Teaser Video is Out, Reveal Soon in 2016

BANGKOK: The German auto giant, Porsche has released a new teaser of its 718 Porsche Boxster and 718 Cayman that are likely to be revealed in early 2016. The new entry-level models in the brand's catalog will be powered by new engines and will get the 718 prefix, which shows the connection with the old and original Porsche 718.

The new models will feature exclusively developed in-line four cylinders turbocharged gasoline power mills that have been developed and crafted to perfection by the company's production unit. However, the exact details about the turbo units are vague at the moment, but it is assumed that it will be available with two engine choices, one being the 2.0-litres turbocharged engine capable of churning out a total power output of 240 hp. While, the other one is bigger 2.5-litres, which can pump out a max power of 300 hp. Considering the more powerful GTS variants, which can bang out a maximum power of 370 hp.

Cosmetically, the new Boxster and Cayman would undergo just a subtle makeover and is expected to remain the same. Don't expect the vast transformation in the newly introduced Porsche models as far as design and styling is concerned.

The models will surface the Internet world with more detailed specifications, design and other features in January or probably in February 2016. While, the public debut for the same is scheduled to take place at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March 2016. As far as pricing is concerned, nothing can be said as of now, but one thing is sure from the company's part that the Boxster will be priced higher than the Cayman.
