Mazda CX-5 2016 Set to Launch in Thailand on February 24
BANGKOK: After releasing the facelifted Mazda CX-5 in its home-country, Mazda is now moving forward in its venture and planning to launch its new breed of compact SUV, Mazda CX-5 2016 in Thailand on February 24th. Mazda has ruled the country for a while now as the Thailand auto market is being flooded with the latest Mazda Drives adorned with the company's signature KODO- Soul of Motion design language and Mazda SKYACTIV Technology. In addition to this, Mazda has also announced the production of the Mazda CX-9 reinforcing its leadership in the market of SUV and Crossovers.
Earlier this month, Mazda CX-5 was recalled in US and Canada due to fuel leak issues, but now it seems the issue has been resolved as the new model of the CX-5 will land in the Mazda showrooms by this week as a supremely capable, marvelously engineered as well as crafted and now even more meticulously refined drive of its segment. For 2016 model, this all-new CX-5 has received minor tweaks in styling, trims, performance and entertainment aspects and is expected to contribute largely in the brand's growth as the Japanese automaker has already eyed a growth of 10% this year. We can see the noticeable changes in the front-fascia as it is now featured with new LED headlights, LED DRLs and LED foglamps and freshly designed 19-inch alloy wheels.
Under the hood, the new drive is packed with 155 hp SKYACTIV-G 2.0-litre 4-Cylinder engine mated with SKYACTIV-MT 6-speed manual transmission and 184-hp SKYACTIV-G 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine with SKYACTIV-Drive 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift and Sport mode. Packed with such efficient engines, all-new Mazda CX-5 offers an impressive fuel efficiency of 26 mpg, which is a lot better in the crossover segment.
Mazda is known for its safety obsession and this is no different in the case of 2016 Mazda CX-5, it has already earned a superior rating from the IIHS for Front Crash Prevention and has also been recognized as the 2016 Top safety Pick Plus by the IIHS, thanks to the Smart Brake Support integrated in the car. This technology minimizes the frontal collision when driving at speed over 16 kmph.
Now we have to wait for the drive to arrive in Thailand to get more details and hands-on experience, till then stay tuned to Carbay Thailand.
