Isuzu MU-X 2016 Set for Launch on 25th March

BANGKOK: With many teaser images and videos doing rounds over media space, Isuzu Motors Co. (Thailand) Ltd has now announced the official launch date of Isuzu MU-X 2016. It seems the Thailand automotive Industry is getting flooded with all the latest launches of the top automakers with many more in the pipeline. The new addition of the MU-X will hit the shores of the Land of Smiles on 25th March with the addition of newly developed 1.9-litre turbo diesel engine along with the usual 3.0-litre diesel engine. The all-new Isuzu MU-X will make its presence known along with another SUV, Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo during the Bangkok Motor Show 2016 with the main highlight being its new 1.9-litre Ddi “Blue Power” engine.

Thailand has always been known for its love for the off-roaders and SUVs and many prominent automakers have tried to fulfil the increasing love and demand of the locals by coming up with the SUVs with both off-roader and on-roader appearance. The Japanese automaker, Isuzu has also proven its mettle in the pickup segment with its class-leading ute, D-Max at the last year's Thailand Motor Expo. Now, footing its steps into the latest trend of Downsizing engines for lower fuel consumption as well as emissions, the company has introduced a new 1.9-litre Ddi- turbo diesel with the latest Blue Power technology, the world-changing innovation. The engine is capable of generating the maximum power of 150 hp along with the peak torque of 350 Nm, but shines with an impressively low CO2 emission of 161 g/km for this light commercial-oriented Spark body type. The new Downsized engine is 60 kg lighter with 10% more power and 9% more torque as compared to its previous 2.5-litre engine.

The Isuzu MU-X will also be available in the 3.0-litre engine for those who prefer “manly” power units. Apart from the improvised power unit, the MU-X is offered with an option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed Rev Tronic automatic transmission while the automatic unit is kept for the 3.0-litre variant.

The new 1.9 variants of Isuzu SUV will be up for grab at the base price of THB 1,094,000 while the 3.0-litre Isuzu MU-X price will be kept at around THB 1,464,000.
