Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Centre-Staged at Delhi Auto Expo 2016
BANGKOK: Isuzu has introduced its enthralling pickup truck, Isuzu D-Max V-Cross at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 in India with the aim to invite new customers in the Isuzu’s camp. This popular Isuzu pickup truck has performed exceptionally well in the varied global markets and is praised for its extraordinary off-road capabilities.
Talking about the Thai pickup segment, which has seen a significant growth in the recent past and is moving at a steady pace in terms of demand it is gathering from the local residents. Toyota Hilux coming from the fleet of the world’s reliable brand has captured the Thai market from quite some time now. Toyota also bagged seven prestigious awards at the 32nd Thai Motor Expo, which is another instance of how well the brand is performing on the Thai turf. Despite the love and dominance accumulated by Hilux, the auto producer from Japan, Isuzu has done remarkably well to compete against the same and has taken the market by storm with its D-Max.
The brand looks to carry over the same success rate in other markets as well, this time it’s India. D-Max is the only second vehicle after SUV, MU-7 that has entered the Indian auto market from the fleet of Isuzu vehicles. The company has to put in some extra efforts to establish its name in the local market as the pickup trend is yet to kick off in this part of the world.
D-Max specifications have also been revealed at the auto event and the pickup underpins a 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged intercooled diesel engine, which is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission system. It can pump out a max power output of 134 hp along with a peak torque of 320 Nm. Talking about the Thai specs, Isuzu has recently introduced an exclusive 1.9-litre Ddi engine that would be exceptional in terms of fuel economy, CO2 emissions and performance.
The range of Isuzu D-Max that will be available for grab includes: Single Cab, Space Cab Flat Deck and Space Cab Arched Deck. Adding to the released lineup, the Managing Director of Isuzu India said in a statement, “With the roll-out of these new Isuzu D-MAX variants, we are offering our customers a comprehensive range of options to choose from, meeting specific needs and requirements of different businesses. Under the harsh heat and tiring conditions in India, modern customers look for comfort features that enhance productivity while reducing fatigue, even for their drivers. The D-Max with Air-Conditioning will be the perfect choice.”
