BANGKOK: The crash test results are out for the new Ford Everest and guess what, it secured a 5-star rating in the results, which clearly indicates how well the company has crafted this road machine. However, the tests were conducted by the Australian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP) last year in October that were later sent to ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries) for verification with Ford Ranger’s data as the big SUV is built on the same Ranger’s platform.

The 4x4 3.2-litre Everest was under scanner at the test centre and it certainly live up to the expectations by securing a remarkable score of 15.38 out of 16 points in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) test. Considering the Child Occupant Protection (COP) test results, the new Everest obtained 4-star rating with 81% compliance.
The features incorporated by the brand inside this SUV include Anti-lock braking system, Seatbelt Reminder for front passengers and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) across all the variants that take the Everest’s safety to another level as compared to others in the market.
In Thailand, the new Everest is available for grab in two engine options, 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre turbocharged engines that are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission system.
