Fiat Toro Pickup Truck Officially Revealed its Rear End Image

BANGKOK: Fiat has recently revealed an official image of its new pickup truck, Fiat Toro's rear end, and its launch was delayed and now expected to launch in the first quarter of 2016.

Fiat's first-ever mid-size, four-door pickup truck is developed similarly as Mitsubishi's newest generation truck, Mitsubishi Triton and Isuzu D-Max with a new design look including split tailgate which splits open in the middle with the opening mechanism behind Fiat's Logo.

Fiat Toro is a 4.915mm double-cab long 4X4 truck with one-tonne payload and its top trim comes in the five seating configuration. Its entry level models ride on 16inch wheels while its range-topping variant rides on 18-inch wheels. Its new xenon headlights, electric sunroof, rear taillights that flow in the rear fenders along with the high ground clearance gives the Fiat's new pickup a rugged and aggressive look making it apt for any terrain and off-roading.

In the new released rear image of Fiat Toro, we can see three badges on the rear end of the truck: Toro, which is its name; Volcano, which is one of the variants and AT9 which is something related to its powertrain.

The entry-level model is powered by 1.8 litre bi-fuel E.torQ engine churning out the power of 140 PS with the peak torque of 196 Nm when powered by ethanol. The range-topping Volcano variant will be packed with 2.0 litre Multijet turbodiesel engine delivering the maximum power of 170 PS at 3,750 rpm and 350 Nm torque at 1,750 rpm. The former petrol engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels only while the latter turbodiesel is mated to a six-speed manual or nine-speed automatic gearbox and is in conjunction with both front wheels or all-wheel drive system.

Inside, it is expected to come with the latest uConnect infotainment system with 5-inch touchscreen display screen, Bluetooth Connectivity, reverse camera and a GPS navigation.

Range-topping models may also be equipped with electric sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, upgraded sound system and dual-zone climate control, off-road suspension, LED DRLs, Hill Descent Control, and chrome trimming may come in all variants.

Sales of new Fiat pickup truck is expected to commence in February next year while sales in Europe and US market will follow soon after.
