Fiat 500 Abarth Facelift Caught While Testing
BANGKOK: Fiat 500 Abarth facelift has been spied for the very first time while testing on the streets of Sweden. The Italian little rocket’s new version is the making once again to impress the world with its head-turning looks and thumping power packed engine under the bonnet.
Earlier this year, the Italian manufacturer introduced the facelift version of the FIat 500, which featured the same uncommon design with minor tweaks on its exterior and inside the cabin. The brand not only worked on improving its aesthetics but also included a refreshed engine, which is capable enough to yield out excellent fuel economy figures and emissions.
Now, it’s time for its sibling, 500 Abarth to undergo some alterations. On looking at the Fiat Abarth spyshots, which is nicely wrapped under the camouflage cover appears to have refreshed bumpers with large air intakes, new side skirts, headlights and tail lamps. Further, it’ll have new lighting units and revised 8-spoke alloy wheels.
The exact details on Fiat Abarth specs aren’t out yet, but it is expected to underpin a 1.4-litre T-jet petrol engine capable of pumping out a max power output of 190 hp, which is said to be 30 hp more than what the present models churns out.
Inside, it is expected to have some tweaks on its upholstery, center console and seats that’ll be upgraded to provide a modernist experience to the occupants. In addition to this, the upgrade would include a 5-inch display infotainment system with Uconnect system and a seven-inch TFT display screen in the instrument cluster.
Ford models will see some of the amazing vehicles added to its catalog in the coming months with the likes of facelifted 500 Abarth, Fiat 124 Spider and Fiat 500X. Out of which, the former is likely to debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, while others would follow in some time. The addition of these outstanding productions from the Italian automaker would certainly help in boosting up the sales for the company and create a new benchmark in their respective segments. However, we’ll wait for the show to commence in order to get the exact offering from the refreshed 500 Abarth.
Along with the pocket-size monsters, the company is also set to introduce its new pick-up, Fiat Toro. The pick-up is ready for a launch in the first quarter of the next year to challenge the other popular market players.
