Ferrari GTC 4 Lusso Unveiled at Geneva Motor Show 2016

BANGKOK: The updated version of the Ferrari's FF, dubbed as Ferrari GTC 4 Lusso made a blast on the press day at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 yesterday. Earlier it was speculated that it would make a debut at the show as the “Ferrari FF facelift” but now it seems the Italian automaker has altogether a different plan for this 2+2. Not stylistically the most strikingly beautiful car in the fleet of Ferrari, but GTC4 Lusso is definitely a better-looking and more powerful than its predecessor FF. Enrico Galliera, Ferrari's senior Vice-President of commercial and marketing during his 10-minute speech told the press that the new GTC 4 Lusso is not exactly a FF, it's a completely new car with almost ninety percent new car elements.

With a slightly lower and sportier stance, the all-new sports car of the Ferrari fleet is more edgier with increased aerodynamics edgy shooting-brake body. To be in line with the Ferrari's evolutionary design, the brand has incorporated the front bumper as well as the rear with the built-in air intakes and the brand new front grille in matte Grigio Ferro Met to give a restyled look. The rear fascia has also been tweaked with a roof-mounted spoiler and a double circular tail lights in matte black to further enhance the looks and aerodynamics of the GTC 4 Lusso.

The latest offering of the Ferrari packs some latest innovations under its hood as well. It carries over the 6.3-litre V12 in a naturally-aspirated guise but now offers the whopping 680 hp at 8,000 rpm along with the peak torque of 697 Nm at 5750 rpm with 80% available at just 1750 rpm. The four-seater is still available in all-wheel drive system but with the new rear-steering system which first made its way in the Ferrari F12 TDF, it is capable of accelerating the engine from 0-100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds reaching the exceptional top speed of 335 kmph.

To aid the better handling, the car is paired with the 4RM AWD system along with the brake-based differential, Ferrari's Slip Side Control and adjustable dampers for adverse conditions like snow-covered roads.

Some noticeable changes have been done inside, which distinguish it from the Ferrari FF. These latest addition to the Ferrari family include Lusso’s latest infotainment system with 10.25 high-definition screen and the compact-steering wheel thanks to the small air-bag. The inside is also equipped with the new organised controls and a restyled Manettino dial making the interior more ergonomic.

Ferrari has also showcased the new Handling Speciale (HS) package for California T along with the Ferrari GTC 4 Lusso at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 and there might be some competition going on for the kind of price Ferrari will tag for its new GTC 4 Lusso considering the older FF was priced premiumly at $300,000.
