2017 Subaru Impreza- First to have Subaru Global Platform
BANGKOK: Subaru has recently brought the Subaru Global Platform into the limelight, which is extremely light, strong and safe. The 2017 Subaru Impreza will be the first vehicle to use the platform exclusively made by Subaru, which will hit the showrooms by 2017. Its five-door concept won the hearts of auto enthusiasts at Tokyo Motor show in 2015 and is once again expected to showcase its image more clearly with the SGP.
With increasing technologies, the automakers are constantly working upon the same in order to meet the new standards. The Subaru Global Platform is all set to be used as the architecture of their next generation models.
The Japanese company revealed the idea of introducing the platform, which was its mid-term business plan. Subaru claimed that the platform is the end product of the development, which was undergoing for many years. Adding to this, it also stated that the new platform offers world's highest safety and is specifically designed to deliver high performance and driving feel altogether.
Automakers to a certain limit use single vehicle platform to keep the costs down but Subaru above all has taken the next logical step with its new platform. For the future of Plug-in hybrid cars, Subaru claims its Global platform to be the best technological advancement and can be utilised for crossovers, hatchbacks and sedans. The new chassis will not only focus on the comfort and stability but also will boast a 70 to 100 percent increase in the rigidity. It features improves straight-line stability, better NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) performance and increased comfort.
Aforementioned, the new platform will be seen first in 2017 Subaru Impreza, which was earlier caught during road tests in Thailand. The vehicle will go on sale later this year and is expected to debut at the 2016 New York Auto Show and is scheduled to be released in the market by 2017.
