2016 Forester Stands Strong on BMS Subaru Platform: Hope to Glue Audience & Customers

MANILA: 2016 Subaru Forester is all ready to woo the onlookers at the ongoing Bangkok Motor Show. This 'a day back' launched car came as revision over its long-running older sibling. The all-new Forester like its previous self is expected rank high on the sport utility sales chart. Well, this revision was not just restricted to the Thai market with its effects also seen in markets like Malaysia and Indonesia.

In its competition, under the 2016 BMS roof is present the TRD badged Toyota Fortuner that is a powerful and sportier version of new Fortuner that comes with some major exterior and underhood changes. Now, as the day passes by we have to see which one of the two is successful in engaging maximum count of onlookers.

While the TRD Fortuner houses a 2.8L turbo engine, the Subaru kid will come accompanied with a 2.0i DOHC 4-CYL 16V mill. The said 2.0L mill is a powerful one with the energy to generate a maximum power output of 150 PS at 6200 rpm along with a peak torque of 198 Nm at 4200 rpm. At the common front both TRD and Forester features an all-wheel drive system that apart from distributing power to all wheels, gives them the ability to display top-notch off-roading skills.

For the Thai market, Forester is available in three trims - 2.0i, 2.0i-P and 2.0XT. Of them, it's the 2.0XT Forester that displays highest power figure of 241 PS at 5600 rpm and churns out class-leading torque of 350 Nm.

Apart from a powerful engine, the onstage Forester is integrated with Subaru's new design language of which a steering responsive headlights, pop-up type headlamps, automatic rain sensor windshield wipers, power glass sunroof and 17-inch alloy wheels are proud parts.

The interior is no less and will only add up to drivers confidence. Subaru has loaded the new Forester with amenities like high-grade multi-functional display, leather wrapped shifter handle, touchscreen control, dual-zone air con system and 4-way steering column.
