2016 Aston Martin DB11 Spotted Testing In UK
Bangkok: The long-awaited successor of the DB9, 2016 Aston Martin DB11 is all ready to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in this March. The car has been spied in camouflage on the public roads of UK. The replacement of DB9 which was out in the market seven years ago, is expected to be packed with 5.2-litre twin turbo V12 power unit with 12-cylinder and DB11 is going to be the first production of Aston Martin Under the partnership with Mercedes-AMG. Earlier, it was speculated that the DB11 will feature AMG power train which is 4.0-litre twin-turbo engine. According to Aston Martin teaser , VH Aluminum-bodied DB11's engine is coupled with a signature exhaust setup to give a growling Aston martin sound giving the total output of more than 565 hp and 620 Nm torque. It will sport ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission which can clock 100 kmph mark in less than 4 seconds.
Aston Martin DB11 is due in sometime this year and it has already made its appearance in the Bond Movie, Spectre alongwith DB9GT. The production of DB11 will get the same spoiler and taillights but according to the spied shots and Aston Martin teaser videos, the new model will sport a redesigned front fascia with the larger headlights and the Aston-nose shaped front-grille with the traditional lower and upper unit instead of concept-spec single element. The concept shown in the Bond movie was known as DB10 and the next generation DB11 will be front-engined with an electric boot spoiler and twin exhaust and a diffuser.
As per Andy Palmer, CEO of Aston Martin, all the next generation cars are all different in design. Andy Palmer was the Ex-executive Vice-President and Member of the Executive Committee and has served Nissan and Renault for more than a decade. With the significant success of Qashqai, X-Trail and Juke, Andy Palmer is now pushing the boundaries of Aston Martin and planning to introduce more sedans and crossover with the DBX platform with the four-pillar plan. In addition to these new replacements, Aston Martin has also registered for a new trademark name “AeroBlade” under which it might develop a new technology of active aerodynamics in its new vehicles. The Brit automaker will launch the new 2016 Aston Martin DB11 at the price of THB 5,770,800.
