Thailand automotive market has evolved over the years and is beginning to emerge as the automotive hub among the ASEAN countries. The brand manufacturers, global as well as domestic have done remarkable work in producing amazing vehicles to lure the Thai. Despite the downfall in sales last year, few automakers have been quite impressive, one of which is Honda. And, if we see a car in the top six contenders for the title from this manufacturer then it won’t be a surprise.
Thailand Car of the Year Awards is organized by the Thai Automotive Journalists Association (TAJA) with the aim to praise the best in the market regardless of the vehicle type, size, engine and technology. This award has its unique importance due to this aforementioned reason and no room for specific categories but the one clear-cut winner, which makes it different from other Thailand automotive awards.
The six cars that have managed to reach the final stage are Honda HR-V, Ford Everest, Mazda 2, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Nissan X-Trail. Out of these, the winner will be decided on Feb 19 by the panel of automotive experts and journalists with considerable car-testing experience. The winner will be evaluated on factors like performance, design, functionality and price.
There was an eligible criteria for the ones competing for the title, which includes yearly sales of at least 500 units, must have made their way to Thailand within the past year and were all-new.
