BANGKOK: Thailand auto market is soon going to welcome the new compact SUV in the lineup of MG models on Thailand turf. The production version of MG GS is currently successfully soaring on the Chinese roads and the excitement among the locals was on peak when the British automaker teased the images of MG GS a month ago. Now this long wait is soon going to end on 17th March when this MG gem hits the showrooms across the country enticing all the segments of crowd. Here are some of the things which will definitely turn the heads towards the first compact SUV of British marquee.
One of its kind:
The MG GS is the first and only Compact SUV in the lineup of the British automaker models. MG GS is styled with a slightly different as well as unique look which makes it apart from other models.
Best of both worlds:
In terms of designing, MG GS SUV has made itself stand out of the crowd as it was styled under the wing of MG design head Anthony WIlliams-Kenny in a partnership between the MG's Shanghai and Longbridge design teams. Williams-Kenny is known as a pioneer of Automotive design and his contribution can be seen in MG GS unique yet homely look featuring the company's octagon badge at the centre of a Brit Grille conjointly with trapezoidal headlamps. The sleek and neat lines run along the length of the car giving a sharp edgy look to this Compact SUV.
Supreme Interior:
Seeing the world-class styling on the outside of the GS, we can expect the cabin to be as plush as of any luxurious sedan. The interior would come with the class-leading materials and comforting features adorning well-cushioned heated seats as well as upholstery covered with supreme soft leather. The cabin doesn't look cluttered at all with the well organised controls, 8.0-inch infotainment display with satellite navigation and intelligent communication control. The cabin is ergonomically enhanced by the considerable cargo space and the 60:40 configuration seats.
Outstanding output:
Thai-spec model is expected to come with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine generating an astonishingly high power of 220 hp along with the peak torque of 350 Nm. The output can be considered a splendid one coming out of an average capacity engine. The standard GS compact SUV will come with the front-wheel drive system while the top trims would get an option of AWD and the power is transferred to the wheels via six-speed automatic dual clutch transmission system. Apparently, we can also expect MG GS to come with an option of 1.5-litre turbocharged engine.
Bestowed with not only astonishing power packed engine, alluring looks as well as plush cabin, MG GS is loaded with supreme safety amenities and comforts also. After hitting the shores of the country on 17th March, this British model is expected to land at the Bangkok Motor Show 2016 followed by the London Motor Show.
