What To Expect from Ford Focus RS
BANGKOK: Ford Focus RS was officially shown at the Geneva Motor Show last year, the new compact hatchback will now enter the Thailand automobile industry in 2016. Ford Motors Thailand has been successfully running in the domestic market of the country and now Ford is all set to extend its hot hatch foray with the new Ford Focus RS which is the highest performance variant and one of the stylish hatchback which will surely attract rally-drivers and hatchback lovers. The new compact hatchback is one of the 12 new Ford vehicles which will launch under the Ford Performance brand by 2020.

- Not equipped with RevoKnuckle: Unlike all the front-drive models with high horse power, the new Ford Focus RS will not have the company's RevoKnuckle front-suspension design. Instead, its high torque is suppressed by the all-wheel drive system and dynamic Torque Vectoring.
- More Powerful Engine: Powered by the same engine as the Ford Mustang's 2.3 litre Eco boost engine but it will deliver an upgraded power of 320 hp owing to its bigger and unique intercooler and enhanced intake system of the engine. It features a new turbocharger, new cylinder head with four-cylinder. Focus RS will also stands tall against all its rivals including Subaru WRX STI, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Volkswagen Golf R by approximately 50 hp.
- Focus RS is AWD only: Unlike all other high output models and its main competitor, Volkswagen Golf R, this hot compact hatchback will be equipped with all-wheel drive system only and coupled to a six-speed manual transmission with a compact gear stick. With the unique torque vectoring system, its torque can be split side to side alongwith the front to back transfer of power. With the help of control unit, 100 percent of the available torque can be send from rear to the each wheel in case of zero slip at any of the four tire. Also, upto 70 percent of the available torque can be routed to the rear axle in case any slip is detected.
- Focus RS won't have Carbon fiber parts: Unlike all other vehicles of its segments, The RS variant of the hatchback won't have any carbon fiber body parts and panels. It will have the same body as the regular Ford Focus.
- Top-speed Acceleration: Ford has confirmed that it can post quicker acceleration to 0-100 kmph in just 4.7 seconds and its speedometer can reach all the way up to 300 kmph beating Focus ST which recorded the speed of 160 mph. With the top speed of 300 kmph and a great platform, it can also go racing or participate in the World Rally Championship.
Ford Focus RS is the most ultimate and intense hatchback, Ford has ever made. It is the 30th vehicle with the RS badge since 1968 which was witnessed by almost all the rally cars all these years.
