Toyota Stuns its Rivals Throughout 2015
BANGKOK: With the passed year 2015, Thailand auto industry has witnessed several new car launches and a number of auto exhibitions. Auto shows occurred throughout the year not only showcased latest cars from the domestic and global auto brands but also helped the automakers to grab new bookings and boost up their revenue. The domestic brands had a terrific platform for displaying their productions and tell the world what exactly they have in their catalog to offer. Among the numerous brands prevailing in the country, the Japanese auto producer Toyota reached new heights or you can say repeated the same on what it is good at and that is remaining at the top of the table in terms of sales. Considering the overall sales or going deep into the respective segments of the market, Toyota ranks top in all of them, which clearly shows its dominance and control over the market. Trust is another key factor, which the company has earned over the years among the hearts of people across the globe has a key role to play in brand's flourishing sales volume. Following are the tables with respective sales number that various companies acquired in the previous year for the months of January and November 2015.
Overall Sales
Toyota grabbed the first spot in terms of sales for the months of January and November 2015. In January, it sold 20,044 units while in November it rolled out 24,500 deliveries. Isuzu secured the second place with 11,202 units sold in January and 11,586 units in November while Honda came third on this list with 10,099 units sold in January and 10,288 units sold in November 2015. For all the three top selling brands, the last quarter of the previous year saw more cars sold as compared to the first quarter or you can first month of the year.
Passenger Cars
Talking about the passenger cars segment of the country, there were two major players who dominated the country's domestic sales chart. Toyota secured the first spot with 8,437 units sold in January and 8,749 units sold in November. Following it was another Japanese brand, Honda, which grabbed the second position with 7,687 cars sold in January and 7,088 cars sold in November 2015. Mazda acquired the third place in the list bagging 790 more sales in the month November as compared to 1,732 units sold in January. Collectively, a total of 25,732 cars were sold in the second last month of the previous year, which is 2,327 units more than what was seen in the first month of the same year.
Commercial Vehicles
Pick-ups fall under the commercial vehicles category and have seen a tremendous growth over the years in Thailand. Major players of the market are Toyota with its spectacular pick-up named Hilux, Isuzu with its amazing off-roader D-Max, Mazda with its BT-50, Mitsubishi with its Triton and the Blue Oval logo with its Ranger. All have witnessed an impressive growth over the years helping the less demanded segment to grow. Toyota rocked in the commercial segment too by selling 15,751 units in the month of November as compared to Isuzu and Mitsubishi that sold 11,586 and 7,540 units respectively. Commercial vehicles' sales have increased over the passing months of the previous year. January 2015 saw just 36,316 units of the vehicles sold while the end of the year, especially the month of November proved as a fruitful month for the automakers. A total of 50,694 vehicles were rolled out of the showrooms in November probably due to the offers and discounts companies were presenting at the end in order to lure its prospective buyers.
