BANGKOK: 32nd Thailand International Motor Expo 2015 is on its way to boom the Thai automotive industry with exclusive launches and premieres. Concepts, powerful cars, hybrid cars, stylish cars all will play a key role for successful execution of this motoring festival. Concepts
Toyota FT-86
Initially revealed in Tokyo Motor Show 2015, the new Toyota FT-86 concept is a four-seater drive designed to reinforce the driving excitement. With modern technology and contemporary styling, this compact car is on its way to becoming a style icon for other cars in the same segment. Under the hood, the new Toyota FT-86 is equipped with 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine which is further coupled with six-speed manual transmission. Subaru Viziv 2
Subaru Viziv 2 is said to be a concept but appears like a full-fledged car which is ready to hit the road. It's interesting appointments like advanced connectivity functions, lighting package employed with LED technology and chrome inserts enables the car to set a new standard for Subaru cars. In terms of power, the car is deployed with 1.6 litres turbocharged four-cylinder engine which develops 168 hp of power. Alongside, the mechanics are refined with Lineartronic CVT transmission.
Hyundai Intrado (HED-9)
Futuristic Hyundai Intrado concept is a car which seems inspired with Fluidic Sculpture 2.0. Initially revealed in 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the new Intrado makes a commitment by previewing future developments for the brand. Featuring smaller and lightweight next-generation hydrogen fuel cell engine reflects a smart drive running over the roads. HED-9 short name of Hyundai Europe Design also previews the glimpses of coming smart drives.
MG CS
Initially unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013, the new MG CS concept with its unique strikingly features will definitely dominate the SUV segment. Oozing British design flair, while embracing sporting DNA, this compact SUV by MG reflects the brand’s rich history of daring design. Multifaceted headlights at front blended with sleek chrome finished grille showcases the new values of styling and elegance. Hybrids
The Japanese brand, Nissan has become the first auto brand in Thailand to sell an SUV employed with a petrol-electric power unit. Its 2.0-litre engine, named as MR20DD claims to deliver better performance than 1.5 litres 171 hp petrol engine. Generating 179 hp of power output, the 2.0-litre engine of new Nissan X-trail hybrid is capable of delivering 20.6 kmpl of mileage, describing 20% more efficiency of the engine. Prices for this high-performance SUV starts from 1.249-1.324 million baht.
Honda CR-Z, an ambitious shot at developing a sporty hybrid. However, its performance doesn’t match with its jaunty outlook. The positive aspect is that new Honda CR-Z hybrid is the solo car which will be employed with manual transmission comprising 6-units.
