How Honda BR-V Will Affect the Crossover Segment?
BANGKOK: Honda is all set to launch its all-new segment, Crossover MPV with an all-new Honda BR-V tomorrow in Thailand. The automobile industry of Thailand has already been flooded with the crossovers like Subaru Forester and Mazda CX-3 which were recently introduced at the Motor Expo 2015. To stand tall against these two crossovers, the Japanese automaker has come up with the new segment crossover MPV to favor those customers who want the ruggedness and boldness in their vehicle along with the multi purpose utility of their vehicle. Honda BR-V alongwith 12 other models was revealed at the 32nd Thailand International Motor Expo 2015 to lure the buyers with its sporty appeal.
Built under the Earth Dreams technology, Honda BR-V is packed with a 1.5-litre SOHC four-pot i-VTEC power unit offering a maximum power of 117 hp along with a peak torque of 146 Nm. The power in this Crossover MPV is sent to the wheels via new CVT transmission offering powerful driving performance and fuel efficiency as compared to its rival Subaru Forester and Mazda CX-3 which produces maximum power of 147 hp and 105 hp. The Japanese Crossover, Mazda CX-3 is built under the concept of “See the world with a New Angle, Freedom is Limitless” and equipped with SkyActiv technology while the BR-V has an option of alternative energy E85.
According to the Japanese automaker, BR-V stands out because of its rugged exterior, sleek roof covering rails, large blend 16-inch alloy wheels along with a high ground clearance. Its exterior also features a thick chrome slat with the company's insignia at the centre along with projector headlamps and LED tail-lights in a C-shape. Honda BR-V is a bit toned down as compared to its competitor Subaru Forester as the Subaru crossover is bestowed with more sturdy and sporty look.
When it comes to its interior, Honda BR-V will be available in two different configurations: 5 seater over two rows and 7 seater over three rows beating Mazda CX-3 and Subaru Forester which comes in a single seat-configuration that is 5-seater and 7-seater configuration. Inside, it is integrated with all the latest technologies along with an ample space for the fun-filled drive.
The new Crossover MPV, Honda BR-V is surely going to attract the customers with its powerful engine and sporty look with its special price tag of THB 750,000 as compared to its competitors Mazda CX-3 and Subaru Forester which come at the price of THB 835,000 and THB 1,690,000.
