Auto Expo 2016, India’s Biggest Auto Carnival is About to Get Underway
BANGKOK: India’s biggest auto exhibition is round the corner and is scheduled to take place from 5th to 9th February 2016 in Greater Noida, UP, India. The auto event is expected to witness crowd in huge numbers, probably around 1-1.50 Lakh. With 65 car manufacturers bringing their exhilarating productions to the show, the upcoming event is likely to be a great success for everyone, i.e., car brands, organizers and the visitors coming in as they’ll get a chance to experience the scintillating road machines from the global auto brands. Brands like Honda, Ford, Hyundai, Chevrolet and more would be a part of the big event and here we have a list of cars to look forward at the show.
Honda BR-V 2016
First comes the latest Japanese crossover, Honda BR-V 2016, which was unveiled at the 32nd Motor Expo last month in Thailand and will be up for grab from 28th of this month. The groovy crossover is powered by an efficient 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine capable of churning out a max power of 120 PS and a peak torque of 145 Nm. It will be on display at the show flaunting its striking looks and muscular stance trying to lure the potential buyers of the country.
Next-gen Honda Accord
Coming from the fleet of Honda cars, the new Accord 2016 centre-staged at the show will be the facelift version of the 9th generation model. It will feature subtle alterations on both, inside as well on its outside. Its feature front will also see an upgrade supporting the exclusive Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Technically, Honda Accord 2016 would underpin a 2.4-litre i-VTEC petrol engine coupled to a six-speed manual transmission system. There is also a possibility of CVT gearbox, which may be made official once the show starts. Another option would be a 3.5-litre V6 petrol powertrain which shows its efficiency by knocking out 278 hp of power and 342Nm of impressive torque. A 2.0-litre hybrid engine along with 124 kW electric mill to churn out a combined power measuring 196 hp is also in the queue.
Honda Jazz RS
Another car from the catalog of Honda, Jazz RS will be centre-staged at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016 in India. The powertrain option is expected to be same as the standard variants but, there will be some modifications on its exterior and interior giving it a new and sporty look. On the outside, the latest Honda Jazz RS will get refreshed wing-shaped front grille with RS badge, power-folding ORVMs, projector headlamps, circular fog lamps with LEDs & daytime running lights, a rear spoiler and a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels. Its cabin is expected to have a large 7-inch infotainment system as standard.
2016 Ford Everest
Christened as Ford Endeavour in India, the American SUV has made its way to the Indian soil and the brand is now keen to take it to the auto exhibition in order to entice the local crowd even further. The full-size American SUV, 2016 Ford Everest, will compete against the likes of Toyota Fortuner underpinning a large 3.2-litre Duratorq five-cylinder TDCi engine that’s good enough for pumping out a max power of 200 PS and a peak torque of 470 Nm. While the engine comes with an option of a six-speed manual as well as an automatic transmission system.
Toyota Prius 2016
The world’s largest auto giant is all set to bring its latest fourth-generation Prius 2016 to the Auto Expo 2016 in India, which was revealed in September last year. Built on the brand’s latest Global Architecture, the 2016 Toyota Prius comes with an efficient 1.8-litre 4-cylinder DOHC engine that’s potent to pump out a power of 97 hp and a peak torque of 142 Nm. There is an electric motor along with a battery pack in addition to a naturally aspirated engine.
